Longing to Love

Walking the Way of Faith

Being discouraged on our faith journey can be so trying. There was a season in my life when I believed there was no way God could ever love me. How could He love me when I could only see the horrible things I had done in my life … unforgiveable in my eyes.

You see, I wasn’t the good Catholic who lived a life that honored my body and my relationships. I had hit rock bottom and all I could do was sit at the back of the Church sobbing, feeling so ashamed with who I was and what I had done.

Magnificat Day

June 28th, the Church celebrates the beautiful feast day, Sacred Heart of Jesus. As I read the Magnificat on that day I was struck by the scripture reading and intercession offered in the Morning Prayer.

“What will separate us from the love of Christ? Will anguish, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? No, in all these things we conquer overwhelmingly through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:35, 37-39

In Romans we read an amazing message of hope and love. A message that encourages us to step forward in faith and to believe again in God’s promise that He will never separate His love from us. This is a good news story indeed!

The introduction of the Intercessions in the Magnificat read this, “If nothing can separate us from the love of God made manifest in the human heart of Jesus Christ, then nothing is too small or too great for his concern.”

God Claimed You for Himself.

Friends, God has marked you to enter into union and communion with Him You have been Called by Desire, Empowered with Grace, so you can be Opened to give life by LOVE for LOVE. God longs to love You with the depths of His Most Sacred Heart! Place yourself in a posture to receive and say Yes to His gift. You were made for love!

Let us pray…

“Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we trust in You. We believe in You. We love You. Help us Lord to reclaim the truth that we are worthy of Your love, not by our own doing, but because of Your incredible gift of mercy and love. Help us to remember that You, oh God, will never separate us from Your love. Amen.”
